Semperit expands Speed-Grip 5 size range

35 new sizes, including 29 in the growing UHP segment

Hanover, June 2026. The Semperit tire brand is strengthening its winter tire portfolio by adding 35 new sizes to the Speed‑Grip 5 range. Of these, 29 are in the Ultra High Performance (UHP) segment. This expansion reinforces the brand’s presence in high‑demand sizes and extends fitment coverage for current passenger cars and SUV platforms.

The new sizes focus on key market‑relevant dimensions, enabling broader vehicle coverage. Semperit is responding to growing demand for winter tires, particularly for more powerful passenger cars and modern SUV models. The Speed‑Grip 5 range now comprises a total of 134 items for rim sizes between 14 and 21 inches.

More sizes for an evolving vehicle market

“The vehicle fleet continues to evolve, particularly in the segment of more powerful passenger cars and SUVs,” says Matthias Bartz, Business Development Manager EMEA. “With the new sizes, we are specifically closing gaps in our portfolio and expanding coverage of current vehicle platforms. This further strengthens the position of the Speed‑Grip 5 in a highly relevant market segment.”

Winter expertise for modern platforms

The Speed‑Grip 5 has been developed for demanding winter conditions. Its tread pattern, with numerous sipes in both transverse and longitudinal directions, ensures precise handling on snow‑covered roads, as well as strong traction during acceleration and braking. V‑shaped grooves efficiently channel water and slush away, while optimized tread blocks provide reliable grip on dry surfaces.

The winter tire is available for rim sizes between 14 and 21 inches and, depending on the dimension, is approved for speeds of up to 270 km/h.

Performance confirmed in independent testing

Independent tests also confirm the tire’s performance. In the AutoBild winter tire test 2025 (issue 41/2025), the Speed‑Grip 5 achieved a “Good” rating, impressing in particular with its balanced safety performance in wet and winter conditions.

In its 120th anniversary year, Semperit is expanding its passenger car winter tire range to a total of 169 sizes, underlining its long-standing expertise in the winter tire segment. Since 1906, the Austrian brand has stood for reliable tire solutions under demanding conditions and continues to systematically develop its portfolio for passenger cars, SUVs, vans and commercial vehicles.
